Billy Allen Baker, age 91, passed from this life on Friday, March 15, 2024 in Webster, TX. He was born on May 3, 1932 in Santa Anna, TX to Walter Allen Baker and Bertha Jane (Leonard) Baker.
Billy was a loving husband, dad, grandfather and friend. He worked as a Chief Technician for El Paso Natural Gas. He married Barbara Ray (Long) Baker in Ranger, TX in 1953 and shared 58 beautiful years with her till her passing in May of 2011. Billy was well known by many in Ranger for his many years spent coaching and teaching, alongside his dear friend of many years, Ron Butler. They taught the girls fast pitch baseball team at Ranger Junior College. He was a very simple man who enjoyed staying home and watching sports and also loved fishing. He will be missed by many.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son: Russ Baker and wife Bridget of Lake Jackson, TX; grandchildren: Jed, Seth, Slade and Jessica; 5 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife: Barbara Baker; two sons: Reginal and Robin Baker; brothers: N.C. Baker, Curtis Baker, Melvin Baker and George Baker and sisters: Johnnie Smith, Opal Beard, Beatrice Maroney and Dorothy Erving.
