Patsy Ann "Meme" Ables

July 27, 1936 — March 11, 2022

Patricia (Pat/Patsy) Ables “MeMe”
The angels carried MeMe to her forever home on March 11, 2022 as she was surrounded by the loves of her life, her granddaughters. Patsy was born on July 27, 1936 in Ranger, Texas to Elton M. Simpson and Kathryn L. (Robinson) Simpson. She loved her family and was passionate about activities that involved her granddaughters and great-granddaughters, including softball games, dance recitals, and holiday gatherings. We know she will be on the front row cheering them on, and she will always be their guardian angel.
Pat attended Eastland schools from kindergarten thru 12th grade. She attended Draughon’s Business College and Ranger College. She married the love of her life, Elton Ables, and they had two daughters, Kathy and Traci. Pat worked for Bender Abstract Company and Taylor County Abstract of Abilene. At the age of 40, she decided to become a nurse. She worked at numerous nursing homes in Eastland and Erath counties for over 30 years. Pat was very active in the Eastland First Baptist Church as a Sunday school teacher and member of the choir. After moving to Abilene, she attended the First Baptist Church and Pioneer Baptist Church. Pat was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She will be missed by many, but we know we will see her again.
Those gone before her are her parents, a brother Bobby, and a son-in-law Wayne Sharp. She is survived by two daughters Kathy Sharp of Eastland and Traci Hamrick of Kerrville. Grandchildren Paige Hood and Kevin of Eastland, Ticia Romo of Buffalo Gap, Missy Denard and Rocky of Potosi, Tim Sharp and Laura of Stephenville, and Shannon Sharp of Abilene. Great-grandchildren Macie Hood, Paislea Romo, and Sayde Bowles, 8 great-great-grandchildren, cousin Hilda Denham, and several more close friends.
