Adam Anthony Rogoski III was born October 13, 1948 at Pedigo Hospital in Strawn, Texas to Adam A. Rogoski, Jr and Grace Stanley Rogoski. After graduating from Mineral Wells High School in 1966, he enlisted in the Navy. Adam went through helicopter flight school at Fort Walters before he was sent for a tour of duty in Vietnam. He served as a Door Gunner for the Navy's elite helicopter team, the Seawolves. During his tour, he flew 647 combat missions and received numerous awards and citations. He was placed on the Combat Air Crew Roll of Honor in 2007 for his service. Upon discharge from the Navy, Adam went to work for the railroad in the signal department retiring from Union Pacific after 40 years of service. Adam was active in his church community. He taught Catechism, was a 4th degree in the Knights of Columbus, served as a lector, eucharistic minister, and sat on the parish council. He volunteered for the Strawn Volunteer Fire Department and served as their Fire Marshal for several years. He loved hunting and fishing and spent much of his retired years doing just that.
He is survived by his children, Tonye Grauman and husband Todd, Cristen Rogoski, Adam A Rogoski IV, and step-son Joe Wesley; his grandchildren Mya Nunez, Alayna Straws, William Grant, and step-grandson Tracer Wesley; his brothers Albert Rogoski and wife Patricia, Joe Rogoski and wife Paula, nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends.
Rosary and visitation for Adam will be Friday, June 2nd from 6 to 8 pm at St. John's Catholic Church in Strawn. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, June 3rd at 10 am at St. John's in Strawn, internment with military honors to follow at Mount Marion Cemetery.
In leu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Strawn Volunteer Fire Department, St. Rita's Catholic Church, or CARE Animal Rescue.
