Alexander Duncan, Jr, 84, passed away peacefully in his home in Ranger, TX on Wednesday, August 23, 2017.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Angelina (Martinez) Duncan; 5 sons, Roy Olgin and wife Amanda of Midland, TX, Ruben Olgin and wife Sandra of Midland, TX, Robert Olgin and wife Danica of Weatherford, TX, Eddie Olgin of Ranger, TX, Alexander Duncan and wife Krista of Joppa, MD; daughter, Carol Garcia and husband Michael of Eastland, TX; 11 grandchildren, Emily Olgin, Michael Ray Garcia, Elyssia, Mariza, and Mathias Olgin, Zayne Thomas, Jagger Thomas, and Maxxon Olgin, Carson and Nolan Duncan, and John Michael; and brother, Trevor Duncan and wife Emma of Indio, CA.
Alex is preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Johanna Duncan and 2 brothers, John Duncan and Charles Duncan.
Alex was born in Youngstown, OH on August 23, 1933 to Alexander and Johanna (Donachie) Duncan. He later moved to California where he attended San Pedro High School. He later obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. He married his wife, Angie, on November 24, 1990 in Ranger, TX.
After retiring from National Supply, Alex began a successful career in Bookkeeping. He would later build his bookkeeping career, over the last 35 years, in his community of Ranger, TX where he prepared taxes for residents in the surrounding areas. He was a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Ranger, TX. Alex enjoyed golfing and bowling in his younger years. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Los Angeles Raiders, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Los Angeles Lakers. When he moved to Texas, he became a loyal fan of his beloved Dallas Cowboys as well as the Texas Rangers. He prided himself in his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed family gatherings at his home where his family would socialize and delight in each other’s company. Alex lived a full and wonderful life in all of his 84 years. His family finds comfort in knowing he is rejoicing with his Lord and Savior.
Services for Alex will be held Saturday, August 26th at 2:00 pm at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Ranger, TX. Visitation will be held Friday, August 25th from 6-8 pm with a 7 pm Rosary at Edward’s Funeral Home in Eastland.
