Alice "June" Rouse, 80, formerly of Gordon, TX went home to be with her Heavenly Father Wednesday, July 31, 2013 in Weatherford, TX. Graveside services were held at 10:00 am Saturday, August 3 at the New Gordon Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn. Visitation was Friday, July 3rd from 5-7PM at the Funeral Home.
June was born November 15, 1932 in Ft. Worth, TX to Roy Edwin and Willie Cramer Smith. She married the love of her life Doyle L. Rouse in Palo Pinto, October 15, 1948 one month shy of her 16th birthday. June was a homemaker who enjoyed baking and sewing and she also had a green thumb: For a time she work as the bookkeeper for her husband's business, Rouse Service Company and had an office full of beautiful plants. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gordon having joined the church in 1971 and loved teaching a ladies Sunday school class. June was also of member the Women's Club and at one time owned a dress shop in Gordon.
June is preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters. She is also preceded by 4 sons, Baby boy Rouse, Larry Don Rouse, Kenneth Eugene Rouse and Jerry David Rouse.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Doyle L. Rouse, one son Terry Rouse and one sister, Shirley Branam. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Stan Rouse, Michael Rouse, Melissa Mahan, Stephanie Rouse and Heather Rouse, and 12 great-grandchildren, Hailey, Hope, Hoss and Heidi Rouse, Brandon and Morgan Mahan, and Wyatt, Ryan, Casey, Ethan, Zane and Ace Rouse.
