Al (Alton) Lee Nabors, 74, of Eastland Texas, passed away peacefully March 21, 2025, at 7:20 a.m. under the care of hospice at the Rising Star Nursing and Rehab facility in Rising Star Texas.
Al was born February 9, 1951, in Odessa, Texas to James and Maxine Nabors. He was an Army Veteran, was deployed to Germany and discharged September 25, 1978. After discharged, he returned home to Odessa. He was married to Betty Jackson and later divorced and then married Nadine Fraley. Al worked as a janitor at Eastland High School for many years. He also drove truck for a short period of time then returned to work at the school for a total of 21 years.
Al enjoyed cooking out, fishing and living in the lake house by the water. He loved his dog and "special companion", Puggles. He was known for attending all the football games at the high school and making sure everything was in order. He will be deeply missed by all that came in touch with him.
Survivors include his wife Nadine Nabors, sister Gemma Sue Rieck, nieces Sabrina Thompson and Melissa Schwabenbauer, nephew Jim Thomashide, great nephews Canyon Thompson and Russelle Fikes.
The family would like to express their thanks to Eastland County Sheriff Department, Eastland County Memorial Hospital, Eastland Adult Protection Agency, Rising Star Nursing Home and Rehab and Kamelia Williams with Solaris Hospice.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2025 at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland.
