Alton Lester (Buddy) Rogers

Alton Lester (Buddy) Rogers, 91 of Ranger, passed away Tuesday September 11, 2018 in Ranger. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Alameda Cemetery with Ronny Guess officiating. The family will receive friends at Edwards Funeral Home in Ranger from 10 a.m. until 12 noon Friday.
Mr. Rogers was born January 23, 1927 in Gorman to Alfred Jesse Rogers and Lucy Inez (Melton) Rogers. He graduated as Valedictorian from Alameda High School before serving in the Army. He was Assistant Water Superintendent for the Eastland County Water Supply District for many years. He was a member of the Merriman Baptist Church and loved taking care of his cattle and farming. He enjoyed dancing and his early morning coffee drinking buddies. He was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Rogers.
Survivors include his son, Randall Layton Rogers & wife Linda of Ranger; 2 daughters, Cathy Yarberry & husband Bobby of Richardson, and Jo Jackson of Greenville, MS; a sister, Lugene Morris of DeLeon; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
