EASTLAND – Amelia Castillo Vela, age 82, went home to be with the Lord December 26, 2020. A graveside service for Amelia will be 10am Tuesday, December 29 at Eastland City
Cemetery. Family and friends will gather an hour before the service at Edwards Funeral Home, 411 S Mulberry in Eastland, TX.
Amelia was born October 16, 1938 in Martindale, TX to Manuel and Felice Rodriguez Castillo. She loved music and listening to Spanish music whenever she had the chance. She was a loving mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to her kids.
She is survived by her children; Sylvia Campos of Luling, Elvira Corpus of Cisco, Rosalinda Rodriguez of Eastland, Ernest Vela, Jr. of Palestine, Lyndia Haggard of Eastland, and Melva Jean Vela of Palestine, 24 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Amelia is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters; Anita Tenorio and Florinda Romero.
