MORAN - Maurine McCollum, age 87, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. Services will be at 10:30am Saturday, March 30 at the First Baptist Church, Moran, with Grant Robinson officiating under the direction of Chambers Funeral Home of Cisco. Burial will follow at the Dennis Cemetery in Moran.
Maurine was born January 22, 1926 to Enoch and Willie McCollum on the home place near Moran where she lived all her life. She graduated from Moran High School. She work for the First National Bank in Moran which later became Peoples State Bank, serving as Vice President for several years. She retired after 49 years of service. Her hobbies included gardening and she loved her dogs. Maurine was a member of the First Baptist Church in Moran.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Clovis McCollum and a nephew Wes Odell.
Maurine is survived by her nephew: Brad McCollum of Moran, cousins: Clark Skiles and wife Pat of Arlington, Wade Skiles and wife Elaine of Arlington, Keith Skiles and wife Sally of Bowling Green, KY, and James Maulden and wife Cheryl of Magnolia, TX, several other loving cousins and many good friends.
