EASTLAND – Barbara Ann King Kellar, age 70, passed from this life Friday, March 16, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. Services for Barbara will be at 2 pm Monday, March 19 at Edwards Funeral Home at 211 Pine Street in Ranger, Texas. A visitation will be held from 4-6 pm on Sunday also at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery.
Barbara was born May 15, 1947 in Ranger to Charles and Lela Mae (Bowen) Isabell. She grew up in Ranger and has spent her whole life a resident of Eastland County. She married Joe Howard King on April 2, 1965 and he preceded her in death on May 3, 1990. She then married Clinton Kellar in Carbon, TX on February 18, 1997. He preceded her in death on May 27, 2011. Her final years were spent with special friend, Kent Davis, whom she adored. She worked hard all her life, as a farmer/rancher, driver for Purolator Courier Service, and at Greer’s Western Store.
Barbara was an accomplished artist who loved to travel. She was the type of lady who if you just showed up to visit would soon whip up something to eat just in case you were hungry and she did love company. She loved animals of all kinds and if they showed up on her porch or in her yard she was going to feed them also. She has raised rabbits, raccoons, skunks, squirrels, and hand fed birds. As a child living in Ranger, she even had an alligator! Barbara was a very independent lady who was a fighter, as evident during her battle with cancer.
She is survived by her three sons: Joe Howard King, III, and companion Amber Rouse of Lake Leon, James Ray King and wife Sharon of Cisco, Justin Wade King and wife Pam of Stephenville, Step-sons, Bryan Kellar and wife Angela of Morton Valley, and Michael Kellar and wife Erin of Springtown; numerous grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, and husbands: Joe King, Jr. and Clinton Kellar.
