Belvia Jean Brown passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 16, 2022. Graveside
services will be held at The Colony Cemetery in Ranger, Texas on Wednesday, September 21 at
3:00 p.m. Arrangements are coordinated by Edwards Funeral Home, Eastland, Texas.
Known to her family and friends as “Heidi”, she was born on November 8, 1933 to Houston and
Elma Pugh in Springtown, Texas. They had three children, twins Belvia and Geraldine and their
brother Randall.
On January 1, 1950, Heidi married Artie R. Brown. They lived in Fort Worth, Texas and Long
Beach, California during their married life of 43 years. They settled in Mineral Wells in 1969.
They lived on a little farm where she kept horses, cows, chickens, dogs and cats. She was an
animal lover as well as an outdoor person who even learned to snow ski in her sixties.
Heidi was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and had dedicated her life to helping others learn about
Jehovah God and his Word, the Bible. As a Witness, she had the hope of a resurrection to
paradise here on earth in the near future in line with the psalmist’s words at Psalms 37:29. She
was truly loved by her family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Artie; infant son, Johnny Russell; sister, Geraldine;
and brother, Randall. She is survived by her three children, Terry Kirkpatrick and husband,
Larry; Pamela Barlow and husband, Gary; and Kenneth Brown and wife, Gena; 8 grandchildren,
Jeffrey Kirkpatrick; Trisha Inman and husband, Chad; David Kirkpatrick and wife, Sasha; Jedidiah
Barlow and wife, Callie; Matthew Barlow and wife, Bella; Lacey Nelms and husband, Joshua;
Jacob Brown; Cooper Brown; 11 great-grandchildren; loving niece who helped take care of her,
Cheryl Polley; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins as well as a large legacy of brothers and
sisters in the faith.
The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to her primary care physician in
Weatherford, Amy Henson, P.A. as well as Valor Hospice for their excellent care of our mother
and grandmother.
