Bennie Joe Stewart (Joe Stewart Sr.) passed away on December 31, 2012, in Eastland TX. Joe was born on March 16, 1945 in Ranger, Texas to Cecil and Mary Ellen (Baugus) Stewart. He graduated Olden High School and Married Ruby Ann Lewis in 1963. He started Volkswagen Parts in Olden, Texas with his parents in 1964, later changing the name to Foreign Auto Parts, and then Incorporated FAP, Inc. Joe loved people. He was a freedom loving American and enjoyed his multifaceted business life. Joe and his wife Ruby were integral to the forming of River of Life Church in Eastland, TX where he was an elder for several years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a brother Wylie Cecil (Dub) Stewart.
He is survived by his three sons: Joe Stewart Jr. and wife Nancy of Eastland and their two children Courtney Stewart of Eastland and Chad Stewart and wife Susan of Houston; C. Lynn Stewart and wife Debbie of Eastland and their daughters, Laci Hays and husband Gary of Eastland sons Isaiah and Micah, and Jodi Stewart of Abilene; Josh Stewart and wife Karla of Grand Prairie and their daughters Hannah and Heather; and his nephew, David James whom he loved as a son. He is also survived by three sisters, Delores Ashley of Beeville, Doris Stevens and husband Gary of Clyde and Daisy Clayton of Dublin.
The family will receive friends at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland on Wednesday January 2, 2013, from 5 until 7 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday January 3, 2013, at the River of Life Church in Eastland. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, directed by Edwards Funeral Home of Eastland.
