Betty Ann Harmon Baker, 83, of Mingus went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 surrounded by her family at her home. A Mass will be 11:30 AM Saturday, September 10th at St. John’s Catholic Church in Strawn. A visitation will be Friday September 9th from 5-7 PM at St. John’s Catholic Church with Rosary to follow at 7 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home Strawn.
Betty was born November 25, 1932 to George Lee Harmon and Pernie Camilla Parsons Harmon in Thurber, Texas. She graduated from Gordon High School and soon met the love of her life William J. Baker; they married January 14, 1949 in Palo Pinto, Texas.
Betty was a member of the Mingus Ladies Club since 1991, was the Secretary and Treasurer for the Gordon Lions Club; Mayor Protem of Mingus, and was on Gordon’s School Board. She was a caregiver and sat with many ladies and gentlemen when they needed care.
She is survived by 3 sons, Larry Michael Baker, Sr of Salem, OR, Jerry Patrick Baker of Orlando, FL, and Michael Baker, Jr of Strawn, TX; 2 daughters, Frankie Elaine Lee of Mingus, TX and Pamela Ann Ezzell of Borger, TX; brother, Clarence Wright or Breckenridge, TX, sister, Sheryl Darlene Moss of Ft. Worth, TX; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
