Betty Yvonne Maynard

– Betty Yvonne Maynard, age 79, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, June 13, 2017. A graveside service for Betty will be held Friday, June 16, 2017 at Center Point Cemetery South of Carbon under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland, TX.
Betty was born October 9, 1937 in Dublin, TX to William McClain Ross and Liza Pauline Reed Ross. She was a graduate of Ranger High School. She married Marvin Jay Maynard in Eastland and where they made their home. While living in Eastland Betty worked for Buck Wheat Resources as a Secretary for several years. After losing her husband in 2001, Betty moved to Edmond, OK and was living in Corinth, TX at the time of her death.
Betty enjoyed planning and preparing large family meals. She was an accomplished artist and spent many hours painting landscapes. Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eastland.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband and two sons; Alan and Andrew Maynard.
She is survived by a son, Jim Maynard and wife Michelle of Denton, TX, daughter Debra Slaton and husband Buddy of Eastland, grandsons; Dylan and Jonah Maynard of Denton, Chris Herrera and wife Tiffany of Stephenville, and Eric Herrera and wife Nancy of Eastland, 4 great-grandchildren; Haley Herrera, Hannah Herrera, Sammy Herrera and Allison Herrera. Betty is also survived by 3 brothers-in-law; Gene Maynard of May, Walter Maynard of Eastland and Eldon Lee Maynard of Richardson, TX and many nieces and nephews.

Direction to Center Point Cemetery – South from Carbon, TX on Texas Ranch Road 1027 about 3 miles. Turn left on CR 413 (dirt road) and follow it for about 3 miles. The cemetery is on the right off the road just a ways and has a large sign over the gate.
