Bettye June McGraw went to be with her heavenly father Wednesday, July 31, 2013. She was born on November 29, 1928 in Vernon, TX to John and Gladys (Parton) Yielding and grew up in the Olden community. Bettye married Burl David (BD) McGraw on Dec. 21, 1945 in Olden, TX where she lived in their home for over 64 years.
Bettye retired after 22 years of working as a seamstress at the Hollywood Vassarette Sewing Factory in Eastland, TX. She was a faithful member of the Leon River Cowboy Church. She was a loving mother, and doting grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Burl David, brother: Claud G. Yeilding
Survivors include one son: David McGraw of Olden, TX; two granddaughters: Shelley Riley of Austin, TX & Sherrey McGraw of Arlington, TX; sister in law: Donnie Reynolds of Olden, TX; four great grandchildren and numerous friends and other relatives.
A visitation will be held 5 - 7 P.M. Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Edwards Funeral Home - Eastland. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 2, 2013 at Edwards Funeral Chapel in Eastland, TX. Burial will follow at Merriman Cemetery in Ranger, TX under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home, Eastland, TX.
