Billie Jean Rodgers, 78, passed away Saturday September 4, 2021 at Ranger Care Center. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 8th at 10:00 a.m. at Alameda Cemetery with Joe Wesley officiating.
Billie was born to James Truett and Velma Grice on June 3, 1943 in Ranger, Tx. Billie was a member of the Mesquite & Rusk Church of Christ in Ranger. She married Richard (Rick) Rodgers on June 5, 1992.
Billie attended schools in Ranger and worked at the Gorman Nursing Home for 10 years and later worked at the Eastland Nursing Home for 4 years.
She loved her chickens and her dogs and had many friends and loved to work puzzles.
Billie is preceded in death by her husband Rick; brothers, Kenneth Grice, Donnie Cozart, Delbert Cozart; and sister, Ellen Kanady; her parents, James Grice and Velma Cozart and step-dad, Delbert Cozart
She is survived by her brother, Dale Cozart and wife Carol; sisters, Loretta Pelfrey, and Norma McDonald and husband James. She is also survived by close friends, Wilma Sybesma, Danny Roberts, Emma Jenkins, and “Red”.
Also surviving Billie is her step-daughter, Leigh and step-son, Rick, Jr., and several grandchildren.
