Billy Ray Adams

Billy Ray Adams, age 93, passed from this life to his eternal one, surrounded by loved ones, on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Ranger Care Center in Ranger, Texas. He was born in Gorman, Texas on November 14, 1929, to John Adams and Viona L. (Revels) Adams.
Billy was a hard worker and devoted husband, father, brother, grandpa, employee and friend. He worked for Lone Star Gas for a span of 33 years with the surveying crew, surveying pipeline all over the state of Texas and working in Gas Measurements. He was a lifelong resident of Olden and loved serving his community. He was a member of the Olden Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and taught Sunday School for many years. Billy also served on the water board in Olden and also helped at the Olden Community Center for several years. He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force for 4 years and was an Airman 1st Class. He married the love of his life Veda Charlene (Sims) Adams, on April 4, 1959, in Stephenville, Texas and they enjoyed 64 beautiful years together.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife: Veda Adams of Olden; three sons and one daughter: Alton, David, Brenda and Bubba; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and very best friend Bob Farrell.
He was united in Heaven with his parents: John Adams and Viona Adams; and one brother: Jackie Wayne Adams.
A family visitation will be held from 5-7 pm, Friday, August 11, 2023, at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 am, Monday, August 14, 2023, at Olden Baptist Church in Olden, TX with Brother Bob Farrell and Brother Jimmy Hatcher officiating. Interment will follow with military services to be held at Alameda Cemetery.
