Bobbie Sue Landtroop, 79, devoted wife of James Landtroop of Ranger, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, January 21, 2020. She was born October 20, 1940 in Eureka, TX to the late Loyd and Mable Estes and spent her childhood on rollerskates.
Bobbie was a 1958 graduate of Arlington High School. Early in marriage she worked as a stenographer for the U.S. Government, then as an executive assistant for several different companies, before “retiring” to start a family and be a stay at home mom. After raising her family, she re-entered the workforce as a personal assistant for a Methodist Church ministry that helped bring joy through song to juvenile cancer patients.
Bobbie was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed baking, sewing and a variety of arts and crafts along with camping and spending time with friends and family. She loved diet coke, chapstick and reading on her Kindle. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but will always be a part of our hearts.
She is survived by her husband James of 60 years, her daughter Stacy Beene and husband Donnie of Van Alstyne, and her son Jim Landtroop and wife Cathy of Lubbock; 6 grandchildren; Peyton Sepeda (Jacob) and McKenna Beene, and Braden, David, Kenneth and Lauren Landtroop. She is also survived by her brother Glen Estes and sister Betty Brown.
She was predeceased by her brother Billy Gene and sister Peggy Joyce.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at the Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland, TX from 2-4 pm on Saturday, February 8, 2020.
