(Buck) Dd Mitchell

Doris Darl “Buck” Mitchell, age 83, went to Heaven to be with the Lord, Wednesday, January 3, 2024 in Big Spring, Texas. Services will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024 with a visitation starting at 9:30 AM at the Lone Camp Community Center in Lone Camp, Texas followed by a graveside service at 11:00 AM at New Hope Cemetery. Local arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home, Strawn.
Buck was born February 3, 1940 in Tiger Town (Lamar County), Texas to Doc Benjamin Mitchell and Cora Elizabeth Owens Mitchell. He married Wanda Stinson November 17, 1962 in Vernon, Texas. Buck joined the Army in 1960, was a part owner and manager of Mitchell and Mitchell Tractor Salvage, and was a member of the Baptist Church.
He leaves behind son, John Kelly Mitchell and wife Robin of Terrell, Texas; daughter June Elizabeth Mitchell of Gainesville, Texas; brother, Bob Mitchell of Terrell, Texas; sister, Flois Hickey of Vernon, Texas; 8 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Welcoming him in Heaven are his parents, Doc and Cora; wife, Wanda; siblings, Roy Eldon, Retha May, Odie, Willie Joe, Tom, Ab, Peggy, Bess, and Gladys; and sons, Jerry Douglas Mitchell and David Darl Mitchell.
