Buster Clyde Hathcock gained his wings July 15, 2018 after a long battle with cancer and living a long life to the age of just short of 92. He finally went home to his wife of 65 years Elizabeth (Betty) Hathcock. Services for Buster will be at 3:30 pm Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel at 211 Pine St. Ranger, TX. Burial will follow at the Colony Cemetery northwest of Ranger on Hwy 101.
Buster was born July 28, 1926 to Nannie Gladys and Charles Everrett Hathcock in Eastland County. He was a high school graduate. After graduation he went into the US Navy and was honorable discharged in 1947. He then went to work for Bell Helicopter and eventually retired from American Airlines.
On January 31, 1953 he married the love of his life in Eastland County Elizabeth (Betty) Evans.
After retirement he moved back home to Ranger, TX to live out his life on his farm. Buster was a great man who loved his family and never let you down. He was a man that everyone could count on. He was admired by many and everyone aspired to be like him. He helped a lot of people through his life and made many friends. He taught us about life. He will truly be missed and never forgotten.
Buster was survived by his daughter, Karen Hooper and her husband Mark of Euless, TX and their children Christi Hooper, Jennifer Robinette and Jonathan Hooper, 15 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Jane Hathcock, grandson, Richard Wayne Hooper, sister, Mary Ann Guess and two brothers, Jesse Hathcock and John Hathcock.
