Carol Felts

EASTLAND – Carol Felts, age 83, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, August 16, 2018. A memorial service for Carol will be held at 2 pm Monday, August 20, 2018 at the Lake Leon Baptist Church, Eastland, TX. As per Carol’s request, his cremains will be buried at a later date at the Clearfork Cemetery, Lueders, TX.
Redford Carol Felts was born May 22, 1935 in Lueders, TX to Redford Samuel and Arlene Faye Dodgen Felts. He was a Lueders high school graduate and attended Hardin Simmons University before going to work as an electrician. On November 26, 1955 he married Miss Mary Zoanne Lindsey in Jones County, TX and spent the last 63 years by her side.
Carol was a master of all things mechanical, plumbing and electrical. For 10 years he worked at the South Texas Children’s Home in Pettus, TX. as maintenance director and several years as an oil field electrician for Lynn Electric in Knox City, TX. He enjoyed fishing and golf, joking, and giving people a hard time. He received the miracle of a heart transplant in 1998 and lived with his new heart over 20 years. He was a long time member of the Lion’s Club and served as Deacon and Sunday School Teacher at Pettus FBC and Knox City FBC. Most recently he was a member of the Lake Leon Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Zoanne Felts of Eastland, and 4 sons; “Tim”othy Carol Felts and wife Cyndi of San Antonio, Kevin “Tab” Felts and wife JoAnn of Eastland, Samuel “Todd” Felts and wife Mayme of Magnolia and Randall “Ted” Felts of Eastland, 7 grandchildren; Trey Felts and wife Samantha, Megan Gill and husband Chris, T.J. Felts and wife Ashlee, Austin Felts, Garrett Felts Jones and wife Kayla, Kyra King and husband David and Randall Felts and 2 great-grandchildren; Everett Gill and Farrah Felts. He is also survived by a sister, Anita Faye Groves and husband Leroy of Tuscola.
