It is with heavy hearts yet joyous memories that we announce the passing of Celeste Hoover, aged 76, of Ranger, Texas. Celeste's spirit departed this world on December 19, 2024. Born on February 17, 1948 to Joe B. Scott and Cecelia Shellene (McDowell) Scott, she was a proud graduate of Ranger High School, Southern Methodist University, and was one of the first women to graduate from Texas Tech Law School. Over her distinguished career, she practiced oil and gas law, leaving a mark in the legal community before sharing her knowledge as a dedicated special education teacher. She touched many lives through her work.
Celeste's passion for learning was rivaled only by her love for animals, particularly her cherished kitty cats, who brought her immense joy. She found happiness in exploring antique treasures in thrift shops and relished going to movies and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Alyssa Hoover; her brother, Joe Scott, and wife, Edie; and her sister, Caprice Gatea and husband Nico. Celeste will be fondly remembered for her vibrant spirit and unwavering dedication to her family, friends, faith and profession.
A celebration of her life will take place at Edwards Funeral Home in Ranger, Texas, on December 26, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Family and friends are warmly invited to join us in honoring Celeste's memory and sharing in the love and laughter she brought into our lives. Following the service, Celeste will be laid to rest in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Celeste Hoover's legacy of joy, compassion, and intellect will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched. She will be greatly missed.
Celeste was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister Sondra Shellene Beach.
