Charlene Thackerson

Heaven gained a beautiful soul when Charlene Thackerson left her earthly home May 18, 2020, to unite with her Lord and Savior. She was born September 27, 1941 to W.R. (Pete) Rodgers and Dealva Fox Rodgers. Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 51 years, James Thackerson, brothers Al Rodgers and Milton Rodgers.
Survivors are son, Tony Thackerson (Emilee); 3 granddaughters, Crystal (Mike) Glaspie of San Angelo, Katey Thackerson of Abilene, and Lindey Thackerson of Gorman; and 2 great granddaughters; brothers Ray (Mickey) Rodgers of Eastland and Benny (Marilyn) Rodgers of Azle; sister-in-law, Jannie Rodgers of Abilene; several nephews, nieces, and cousins.
It was evident that Charlene loved the Lord by actions, words, and music. She was pianist for several churches and funerals. She was a soloist at funerals.
Charlene had served as Eastland County Dispatcher. She had worked at Eastland Memorial Hospital and Cisco Hospital as ward clerks. She worked at Walmart in accounting several years.
Visitation will be a 1:00 pm Saturday, May 23rd, at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm Saturday at Eastland City Cemetery.
