EASTLAND – Charles "Charlie" Ray Reed, age 79, passed from this life Thursday, August 13, 2020 in Arlington, TX. Graveside services for Charlie will be at 2 pm Monday, August 17 at the Eastland City Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. There will be an informal gathering of family and friends at La Mancha Lake Ranch after the services. Charlie will lie in state Sunday from 1 – 5 pm at Edwards Funeral Home, 411 S Mulberry in Eastland.
Charlie Reed was born April 23, 1941 in Ft. Worth to Leonard and Lou May Ussery Reed. He joined the US army in October 1962 and served until October of 1964. After his service to our country, he moved to Eastland and went to work for Texas Electric and work at the same job for 33 years, be it Texas Electric or TXU.
Charlie is survived by his children; David Reed, Sheila Holt, and Shellie Ensor, 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, one brother; Kenneth Reed and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and 6 siblings; Gaston, Glendon, Rita, Reba, Lonnie and Leonard, Jr.
