Charlotte Marie Foreman AUGUST 23, 1944 – JANUARY 15, 2024
Charlotte passed away, peacefully on January 15, 2024, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas.
She was born in Haskell, Texas on August 23, 1944 – daughter of Thomas Charley Redwine and Lois Marie White Redwine. Charlotte graduated from Haskell High School in 1962. Growing up in Haskell, Charlotte enjoyed barrel racing, and riding in general. She was very dedicated to her horses and spent many hours riding. She represented the Sheriff’s posse in the Stamford Cowboy reunion, rode in many rodeos, and won numerous awards and honors. Charlotte married Vern Foreman in 1971, they celebrated 51 years together.
Charlotte moved to Odessa, Texas in 1968 where she became the executive director for the local chapter of the March of Dimes. She was instrumental in starting the first walk-a-thon, and worked with local organizations, such as the Jaycees and Jaycee-Ette's, to raise funds through Casino Nights, haunted houses, and Mother’s March.
Through her work with the March of Dimes, Charlotte was introduced to Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA), Women’s Service Sorority. She celebrated over 50 years of service in local chapter, Lambda Alpha. Throughout her time in ESA she served on numerous committees, presented many programs, participated in fundraising and service from simple food and carnival booths, to banquets and horse shows.
Her service work extended, in recent years, to the Texas Ranger Association Foundation.
Charlotte served as Executive Director of Associated Builders and Contractors in the early 1980s and worked in the family business, Foreman Electric Service Company for many years.
Family was everything to Charlotte. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, from sister trips to small gatherings at her home, or at The Farm. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her greatest joy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Flint Nanny, her sister, Jean Richards, and her husband, Vern.
She is survived by her sister, Suzy McElmurry; sons Luther “Butch” Foreman III and wife Jona, Billy Foreman; daughters Darlene Shaub, Lucy Riley and husband Greg, Monica Childs and husband John; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service was held at Hubbard-Kelly funeral home in Odessa Texas, on Friday, January 19, 2024, at 10:00am. Graveside services will be held at the Family Cemetery in Stephens County, Texas on Saturday, January 20th, at 3:00pm.
