RANGER – Cheryl Edwards, age 50 years young, passed away after a sudden illness, April 10, 2020. Cheryl was born May 23, 1969 in New Orleans, LA, to Nicholas J. and Bobbie Polit Lumetta. She was a graduate of Bonneville High School. She married Kenneth Edwards April 30, 1994 in Metairie, LA, and settled in Ranger, TX.
Cheryl loved life and lived it to the fullest. She enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes. She also enjoyed traveling but heading home was always the best. In addition to her sons, Kyle and Keith, she was known to have an “open house” to the kids in the area who needed a place to stay and therefore had many “spare kids” around. Cheryl loved her family including her dogs, husband, kids, and precious grandson Zeke. Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Nicholas, and two uncles; Louis and Fred Polit. She is survived by her loving husband Kenneth Edwards of Ranger, mother Bobbie Lumetta,of Kenner, LA, sons Kyle and Keith, both of Ranger, and grandson Zeke also of Ranger. She also leaves behind her brother Nick Lumetta, grandmother Marie Polit, both of Kenner, LA, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins; including Joey Barrons who lived with her.
As Cheryl requested, she is to be cremated and laid to rest in the family mausoleum in Louisiana.
