Christine Cole

Christine Holt Cole, 90, formerly of Eastland went home to be with her Saviour on December 1, 2013. Services will be at 11:00 am Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Eastland. Visitation will be held starting at 10:00 am the day of the service. Burial will be in the Eastland City Cemetery.
Christine was born January 27, 1923 in Desdemona, Texas to Melvin and Azadell Brown Holt. She attended school in Olden, where she was a cheerleader and a member of the girl’s basketball team. She graduated from Olden High School, where she was Valedictorian of her senior class. After graduation she attended Beauty College and worked for almost 20 years as a beautician. On April 4, 1951, she married Melvin Cole. Christine also worked as an office clerk for several different places including the Crane Hospital.
Christine was a very happy, loving and caring lady. She loved to cook and was known for her hot rolls and her ice cream. Christine even had an interview done about her Cantaloupe Ice Cream. She was a quilter and created some beautiful quilts for her family and friends. She loved sports and was always a fixture at her children’s sporting events. While living in Granbury, she was an avid supporter of the Granbury High School girl’s basketball team. When the family lived in Brownfield for a time, her children remember spending lots of time at the bowling alley, while their mom and dad participated in a bowling league. Christine was an avid letter writer. She loved to write letters to her family. She loved a good game of 42 and Canasta and was still doing the daily crossword puzzles up until her death.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Christine is survived by her three daughters: Carma Ward, Cheryl Goff and husband Dakins, Melanie Rheingans, and one son: Bud Cole and wife Sherry, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandson: Monte and wife Teresa, Logan, Max, Isaac, Kade, Zane, Toby, Tanner, Shaila, Kayli, Lisa , Andrea and husband Tim, Michael and wife Susan, Kristoffer and wife Kristina, Torree and husband Ryan, Tyson, Fawn and husband Tony, Taylyn, Roen, Aidan, Gaelan, Silas, Dacotah, Tyler, Alexander, Roman, Savannah, KayLee, and Matthew.
