My wife Christine passed away on the 1st of January, 2021. I (her husband Doyle) am posting this in her stead.
After 18 years together I never expected this to end this way. We went through a lot together. Ten years in Hawaii, another two in Washington, and about six more here in Texas. We had quite a life together but I sure wish it could have been longer.
To those who really knew Christine she was a very caring person who would do anything to help when she could. She spent more time helping others than she would on herself.
With a career as a web master and developer behind her Christine also became an accomplished and award-winning photographer. Her images graced many a commercial magazine and website. She also helped others mentoring them to become better through the years.
While attending college in Hawaii, Christine was editor of a school magazine. She eventually graduated the University with honors. She also worked full time as a Family Readiness coordinator working for the US Army and managed a full battalion for deployment of the soldiers and their family readiness.
Returning to Washington state, Chris worked for a time, once again with the Army before making the decision to stay at home and care for our daughter.
We retired together in 2014 and moved to Texas where we purchased land to build a house and possibly start a vineyard and ranch. Unfortunately, things happen and although we have the land, we never got to build on it although it was really just put-on hold for now.
We weathered many a storm in our years together and honestly, I expected to be the one to go first, selfishly I suppose. I already miss her terribly but in the end my daughter and I will be fine. It was Chris’s time just as it will come for each of us. I know I that she cared for each and every one of you as well.
With that I will end this here. She will always have my love and I memories of her to carry with me. She will stay in my heart.
