Clemie Jean Strong passed away January 17, 2016 in Eastland, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Evergeen Cemetery in Ranger, Texas.
Clemie was born October 27, 1928 in Olden, Texas to Brownie and Ila Jean (Rayford) King. She was a lifelong resident of Eastland County. She was a homemaker, and also baked for the public, making many wedding cakes for those in Eastland County. Clemie loved quilting and belonged to the Bullock Quilting Club.
Clemie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Floyd Rogers in 1977, and husband John Thomas “Tommy” Strong in 2000. Survivors include brother B.H. King and sister Kay Tibbels; niece Vergenna Halbrook; children Bill Rogers and wife Marilynn of Katy; Jean Ann Sublett and husband Mike of Breckenridge; Jay Rogers and wife Tracy of New Braunfels; and Johnny Rogers of Ranger. Clemie is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Amy Rogers-Browder, Kathryn Sublett, Jaclyn Sublett, Jeremy Barron, Taylor Rogers, and Meredith Rogers, and 6 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to The Woodlands at Eastland, Gentiva Hospice, and to Phyllis, Janet, and Pam, for the loving care given to their mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch.
