Coletyn Rhyne King
November 18, 1997 – November 05, 2020
Coletyn Rhyne King was born November, 18, 1997 in Tyler, Texas to Stacey Beller. He was a blonde-haired cutie from the start, so energetic and happy. Your Typical boy, giving his momma a run for her money. It’s hard to forget someone who gave us so much to remember and that was Coletyn. He lived his life to the fullest and his love was perpetual. He loved his family and friends and had an immense passion for all things sport. He loved to be outdoors hunting, fishing, and playing golf. Anyone having the pleasure of watching him in action would understand he truly had a gift and loved every minute of it. Coletyn was one of the athletes to win the UIL State Football Championship while attending Throckmorton ISD in 2014 (The year of the Hound). He received the Defensive MVP of that game and was 1st team All State for 3 years. He was also a 2-time State Track qualifier and he competed in the State Golf Tournament all while his father, Shane Mallory (coach) was by his side every step of the way. Coletyn was so smart and knew the game so well. What a Force! As smart and special as it was to watch him on the field, he was that and so much more in his personal life. Coletyn had a contagious smile and outgoing personality that was never-ending.
Coming from a coaching family, Coletyn attended many schools throughout his high school career but graduated from Hermleigh High School in 2016 with 27 college dual credit hours. He then went on to attend Texas State Technical College in Waco where he received his dual associate’s degree in industrial maintenance technology, mechanical specialization, facility maintenance and management technology in the fall of 2018. He was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and graduated with honors and was on the Dean’s list each year attended. He continued to hone his technology skills by getting his first job out of college at Matheson as the ASU Operator. He also went to work at Snyder Well Service.
The world loses a little of its luster without Coletyn in it. He was truly one of a kind and will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. Coletyn was cheerful in all weathers. You would never see him without that big perfect smile.
Coletyn was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Charles and Clorine; great-grandmother, Nancy Robinette.
He is survived by his mother and father, Shane and Stacey Mallory, siblings; Colt and Camren, great-grandfather, Bob Cook, grandparents; Jerry and wife Teresa, Cheri Gonzales and Mike Mallory. He is also survived by his aunts; Jacquelyn and husband Jonathan and Tamara, uncles; Michael and wife Karla, Chad, Orin and Ken, and cousins; Patyne, Ivan, Lilly, Landon, Pete, Olivia, Aiden and Iliana.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, November 10th at the Strawn Pavilion followed by a graveside service at Brad Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 5 – 8 pm Monday, November 9 at Edwards Funeral Home, 215 Housley St, Strawn, TX.
