Constance Renaye Middaugh

May 15, 1962 — May 28, 2016

On Saturday May 28, 2016, with broken hearts, loved ones of Eastland’s Constance Renaye Middaugh LVN, surrounded her as she was called home to be with her Lord and Savior. Services will be 4 PM Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Eastland. Burial will follow in the Eastland City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 AM to 1 PM at Edwards Funeral Home Thursday before the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland.
Constance was born on May 15, 1962 in Kimball Nebraska to the late J.C Lewis Sr and Shirley (Moore) Lewis. The middle child being the big sister to J.C Lewis Jr and the little sister to the late Debra Spurlin, Connie was crazy about her family. Family to her, was EVERYTHING. Connie graduated from Newcastle High School in 1980 where she pursued becoming a nurse and by July 1984, she was presented with her Vocational Nurses License from the State of Texas where she began serving the Lord through healing and caring of the lives of others. She married her soul mate, Bobby Middaugh August 26, 1995 in Breckenridge, where the two of them would spend the next 22 years raising their 3 children and become promoted to Nana and Papa to 11 grandchildren.
During her very short 54 years of life, a special portion of them were spent as a Neonatal and Acute Nurse at the United General Hospital of Wichita Falls and Eastland Memorial Hospital of Eastland. Connie sought joy through the lives she saved and the hearts she impacted. During the 26 years of her dedication to the well being of others, she somehow along the way unintentionally neglected to take care of herself. At the young age of 44, she was diagnosed with COPD and shortly after, Congestive Heart Failure and Arterial Vascular Disease made their way to her medical chart as well. With those kind of irreversible diagnoses, you can imagine it took no time at all for them to become chronic conditions, and they did. Connie though, fought valiantly! Her strong will to keep going despite how painful the hospital stays were or the procedures she had to endure, she never gave up. Her unconditional love for her family always outweighed the prognoses she faced. What a huge testament of her character that she so graciously continued to put one foot in front of the other so that she could be here to look after her family!
John 15:12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you
Connie was preceded in death by both of her parents and sister, Debra Spurlin.
