David Maxwell Snodgrass, the oldest of two children of Maxwell and Patsy Ruth (née Barnett) Snodgrass was born in Paris, Texas on January 1, 1947. He grew up in Hughes Springs, Texas with his sister, Nancy, having fun with neighborhood friends and especially loved jamming on his guitar. He attended Hughes Springs High School (Class of 1965), where he developed a lifelong appreciation for music.

He attended Kilgore College in Kilgore, Texas, where he met Denise Cecile Hoffmann. They married on February 18, 1966, at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Longview, Texas. David and Denise were married for 57 years.

David was a metallurgical engineer who worked for Texas Instruments/Raytheon for 36 years. He and his wife moved to Ranger, Texas after his retirement to pursue his dream of raising cattle on his farm. While he enjoyed working on his farm, he was always a hunter at heart. He took pride and enjoyment in hunting and fishing with his family and lifelong friends; Jerry, Robert, and Larry. He loved being outdoors each morning with his cup of coffee, while watching the sun rise and feeding his cattle. His hobbies included playing the guitar with his family and friends, and listening to classic rock music.

He was confirmed in 2007 and was a faithful member of the St. Rita Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council #2123 in Ranger, Texas. He was instituted as an Acolyte in 2011 and happily served the church for many years at St. Rita Catholic Church.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He looked forward to visits from his sons and grandchildren. He told entertaining stories -- sometimes with a hint of exaggeration.

He is survived by his loving wife, Denise; four sons, Paul Snodgrass, Brian (Jennifer) Snodgrass, Keith (Lori) Snodgrass, and Eric Snodgrass; seven grandchildren: Nathan (Camie) Snodgrass, Trevor Snodgrass, Maxwell (Cecily) Snodgrass, Nicholas Snodgrass, Brooke Snodgrass, Hunter Burton, and Hudson Burton; one great-grandson: Hayden Snodgrass; sister Nancy (Ken) Lee, his brothers-in-law: Declan (Medarda) Hoffmann, Mark (Joy) Hoffmann; his sisters-in-law: Sara (Charles) Stevenson, Janet (Gerald) Matthews; as well as beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren, and dear friends.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Rita Catholic Church or the Knights of Columbus Council #2123.
