David Wayne Weise, 74, of Eastland passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of family and friends on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 4:10 PM. David left a wonderful legacy and heritage to his children and grandchildren and was known by all for his life, wisdom and integrity.
David was born to David Tom and Dorothy Jean Varner Weise on August 20, 1948 in Gorman, Texas.
David moved with his family to Carlsbad, New Mexico at a young age and remained there until his joined the Army at the age of 18 and served his country. He was an Army Sargent in Vietnam. David married Brenda Kay Pence in 1969 and they had two children, Jennifer Elaine and Benjamin Keith Weise. They remained close friends after their separation years later. David loved nature, enjoyed fishing, hunting arrowheads and had an exceptional collection of arrowheads and Indian artifacts. He was known as a hunter and trapped feral hogs for many years. David was deputy sheriff while in Carlsbad and later after moving to Eastland he served the community as a city judge. He was a Christian, a Baptist and attended Harmony Baptist Church for many years and later Bethel Baptist Church in Eastland, Texas. David is survived by his daughter Jennifer Elaine Weise Lane and husband Kevin as well as son Benjamin Keith Weise, all of Mineral Wells. He is also survived by grandsons; Christian Weise and wife Danielle of Greenville, Kamron Weise of Millsap, Texas and Kreyton Weise of Weatherford, Texas and a multitude of friends.
David was an old soul who loved his family dearly, he will be missed.
David was proceeded in death by his parents David Tom and Dorothy Jean and granddaughter Trinity.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 10, 2023 at Edwards Funeral Home, 411 S. Mulberry St. Eastland, Tx. He will then be interred in Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene.
