Dealva Marie Rodgers

Dealva Marie (Fox) Rodgers passed away from this life on Sunday evening, October 13, 2013 at 6:37 p.m. at the Valley View Nursing Home in Eastland where she had been a resident for over a year. She passed peacefully surrounded by loving family.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 15th from 6~8:00 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16th at Olden Baptist Church in Olden, TX with Rev. Ray Rodgers and Rev. Bob Ferrell officiating. Music will be led by Darren Rodgers and Roy Rodgers. Her grandchildren will act as pallbearers. Interment will be at Eastland City Cemetery.
Dealva was born January 24, 1920 in Clay County, Texas and lived in Eastland County, Texas most of her life, where she married and raised a family of 5. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 68 years, W.R. (Pete) Rodgers; one son, Milton Neil (Butch) Rodgers; as well as her parents, W.N. (Pole) & Emma Adeline (Wright) Fox. She was the last of 13 siblings.
She is survived by 3 sons and 1 daughter, Alvis (Al) Rodgers and wife Jannie of Abilene, Rev. Ray Rodger and wife Mickey of Eastland, Benny Rodgers and wife Marilyn of Azle, and Charlene Thackerson of Eastland; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law, Bonnie Fay Fox of Olden, Annabelle Fox of Eastland, and Inez Fox of Clyde.
