Debra Kaye Rose

June 30, 1956 — August 9, 2018

Debra Kaye Rose passed from this life, and into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on August 9, 2018 in Abilene, Texas at Hendrick Medical Center. Pastor Chuck and Barbara Farina and precious friend, Diane Harris, were by her side until the end. Memorial services celebrating her life are scheduled for 2:00PM November 20, 2018 at New Hope Church, 3122 South Clack, Abilene, Texas, and 2:00PM November 23, 2018 at the Eastland City Cemetery, 400 South Halbryan Street, Eastland, Texas.
Debbie was born in Ranger, Texas on June 30, 1956, the first born of Price Duane and Betty Faye (Hagar) Rose. She trusted the Lord as Savior at an early age and advanced to “Queen” in the Girls Auxiliary at Oak Park Baptist Church in New Orleans, Louisiana. She attended public school through the tenth grade in New Orleans before her family moved to Sumatra, Indonesia in 1972 and she finished High School at Singapore American School. During her Senior year she toured the United States as a member of Singapore American School Concert Choir, including concerts in Washington, D.C. and Dallas, Texas (where her Grandparents and other relatives attended).
After graduating High School she enjoyed a unique two week “Senior Trip” through several countries in Europe, with her whole family – a highlight was Breakfast in Switzerland, Lunch in Italy and Dinner in Liechtenstein on her 18th birthday. She then enrolled in Hardin Simmons University, earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education, met and married Bruce Irving Redfield and started a family in Abilene. Debbie had four children, Shaunna Nicole, Jonathan Shane, Benjamin Cheyenne, and Chisum Duane Redfield. Her children and her witness for God through her church were her primary interests for most of her adult life and many thought of her as a bright light to them, with her cheerful attitude, bright smile and consistent witness for Jesus when she was physically and mentally able.
Debbie is survived by her parents, Price and Betty Rose of Eastland, Texas; children Shaunna and her daughter, Lauren Howard, and Shaunna’s husband Steve Ondrias of San Antonio, Jon and wife Laura Redfield and their children Guy, Natalie and Allison of San Antonio, Ben Redfield of West Seneca, New York and Chisum and wife Jenna Redfield of San Antonio; siblings James and Denise Annette Rose of Ft. Worth, Texas, Duanna and Tim Hanners of Eastland, Texas and Denise Marie and Derek May of Fairview, Texas; plus many nieces, nephews, cousins and a few aunts.
We would like to thank all our family and friends for the love & support through this difficult time. Your words, prayers and kindness have been such a blessing to us.
