Denny R. Reynolds, 93, formerly of Eastland passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014 in a Brownwood Nursing Home. A visitation for Denny will be Wednesday, October 29 from 5 – 7 pm at the Bakker Funeral Home in Eastland. A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 30 at 10:30 am at Simpson Cemetery.
Denny was born in Kokomo, TX, April 21, 1921 to Lewis Dorsey and Lennie Graham Reynolds. He was married to the love of his life, Stella Reynolds and spent nearly 70 years with her until her death in 2007. Denny joined the US Army in 1940 and severed during WWII. During that time he received 4 Bronze Stars, 1 Bronze Arrowhead, Purple Heart and Good Conduct Metal. After the military Denny went to work for Gulf Oil Co and retired after 37 ½ years. Denny was an avid fisherman and love to golf. He also enjoyed doing yard work and did all the work on his rent houses and his church. Denny was a Presbyterian.
Denny is preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife Stella. He is also preceded in death by his brothers: Lawton Reynolds, Preston Reynolds, Vonceil Reynolds, Dub Reynolds, Poss Reynolds and LD Reynolds.
He is survived by 2 sisters: Vonita Evatt of Eastland and Jean Brightwell of Hurst and a multitude of nieces, nephews, great and great-great.
