CARBON- Lavene Stubblefield, age 81, passed away on Tuesday April 9, 2013. Visitation will be held Friday April 12th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Bakker Funeral Home. Funeral services are Saturday at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church of Eastland with burial to follow at Murray Cemetery. Dolly Lavene Burnett was born on June 14, 1931 in Brown County to Claude and Iva (Hood) Burnett. She graduated from Carbon High School and married Mack Stubblefield on June 23, 1950. Mack and Lavene owned the Carbon Trading Co. She was a dedicated wife, mother and friend of the community. While raising her children she enjoyed supporting her children's activities. After raising her children she discovered her interest in art and taught a community art class at Ranger College for ten years. Lavene lived a life of love for God, family and friends as a lifelong member of the Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of sixty two years, Mack; son Larry Stubblefield and his wife Diane; daughter Sherry Rowell; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The Stubblefield family would like to thank the numerous doctors, nurses, staff at Valley View and most recently the Woodlands Assisted Living for the loving care they gave to Lavene.
