EASTLAND – Donald Jack “Don” Lowrance, 76, of Eastland went home to be with his Lord Monday, August 4, 2014. Services for Don were 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 6 at the Harmony Baptist Church in Morton Valley, Texas with Ray Rodgers officiating. Family and friends gathered at 12:00 PM before the service for a time of visitation and lunch. Burial was at the Eastland City Cemetery under the direction of Bakker Funeral Home.
Don was born July 7, 1938 in Stephens County to Jack and Doris Dye Lowrance. He is a graduate of Eastland High School and a life-long resident of Eastland County. He married Julia Maxine Yancey, May 15, 1959 in Eastland. He is the Co-owner/Operator of Lowrance Inc. Don loved life and in his younger years loved fast cars, motorcycles and guns. Don was a member of the Harmony Bapstist Church.
Don is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Cathy Sandlin and one great-granddaughter, Avery Grace Arrington.
Don is survived by his wife of 55 years, Maxine, and one daughter Rebecca Thomas and her husband Shannon of Tyler. He is survived by one brother, Jerry Lowrance and his wife Nancy , and two sisters; Mickey Rodgers and her husband Ray, and Vicki Lowrance all of Morton Valley, two grandchildren; Brad Arrington and his wife Sherri of Lubbock and Cris Arrington of Grand Prairie, and four great-grandchildren; Cody Kinch, Ty Kinch, Jackson Arrington and Kase Arrington.
