Doris "Dolly" Guydis Kostiha, 83, passed away on Monday, September 10, 2012, after a long crippling illness. Memorial service Mass will be Saturday, September 15th at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in Strawn. Rosary will be recited on Friday, September 14th at 7:00 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home. Dolly was born on April 7, 1929 in Strawn to George Guydis and Janie Lovera Guydis. She graduated Strawn High School in 1946. She married Walter Kostiha on June 17, 1956. Dolly was the owner of Lovera's Grocery Store, which was established by her grandfather, Louis Lovera and grandmother, Eugenius Lovera in 1913. Her greatest joy was serving the community with a generous, friendly service. She loved her Strawn Greyhounds and the youth of Strawn. They were all "Her Kids". Dolly's legacy is her multitude of friends. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Survivors include sisters, Betty Gallagher of Ft. Worth and Barbara Neuhouser (Ken) of Natchitoches, Louisiana; niece, Terry Pollard (Jeff); nephew, George Gallagher (Melissa) and Joe Gallagher; step-nieces, Mary Ellen Cox and Teresa Arafat; three great-nieces; and four great-nephews.
