Dorothy Jane Barron

Dorothy Throne Barron, age 87-years young, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Ranger Care Center. Services for Dorothy will be at 1pm Friday, March 12, 2021 at Edwards Funeral Home, 211 Pine St in Ranger, TX.
Dorothy Jane Throne was born November 19, 1933 in Eastland, TX to Earl and Jeanette Scott Throne. She attended school in Eastland. She married A. T. Barron December 1, 1958 in Breckenridge. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ranger. She worked for Walmart for 24 years. She loved her customers and even if someone did not know her name, they knew the lady who cheerfully helped them in electronics. Dorothy never watched a movie she could not fall asleep during. She loved to have family over and watch the newest blockbuster, of which she had an extensive collection that was ever traded among family. She was a huge animal lover and had a unique selection of animals she fed on a regular basis. In later years, when her eyesight began to fail, she might show you a new cat that came to her door only to discover the largest racoon in Eastland County. She loved to take pictures. She would not call herself a photographer, but she was a keeper of memories. You knew you were a part of her life when you had your picture taken in front of the wooden door in her kitchen. She loved music and loved to dance. If they made her think of good times, they were all her favorite songs. She loved talking with her friends and was excited to go shopping every chance she got.
Dorothy will be remembered for a life well lived and for her capacity to love and laugh. She had a heart much bigger than her small frame portrayed and we are all blessed to have called her our Mother, Nanny, or Friend.
Dorothy was survived by her children; Alan Barron and wife Leeann, Cheryl Flatt and husband Mickey, Melody Nelms, Brent Barron, and Jeremy Barron and wife Joanna, grandchildren-Mark, Chad, Dee, Melissa, Lacey, Kayla, Angie, Cal, Katie and many great and great-great grands. Jayton, Madi, Liam, Zoey, Meradie, Easton, Hud, Max, Hadley, Haley, Mason, Holly, Mitch, Thomas, Brittany, Michael, Kaitlyn, Macgregor, Sawyer, Oliver, Harper, Zain, Taelynn, Harlea, Jaycee, Hayden, David, Calli, Cheyanne, Paisley, Jace, Dax, Jax and Lucas. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband A.T., daughters, Vickie Mitchell and Lisa Wright, and sister Dee Deichmann.
