Douglas Abe Curry, Sr., 70, went to be with the lord on Friday, October 21, 2016 at his home in Mingus. Local arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home Strawn. A graveside service will be held at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early, Texas on November 12th at 2 PM.
Doug was born January 6, 1946 to Odies Manuel Curry, Sr. and Elmyra Ann Roberts Curry in Brownwood, Texas. He was raised in Brownwood and Bangs; he served his country in Vietnam. Doug lived in Midland and was a machinist for 23 years, and then he came to live and settle down in Mingus for the last 20 years. He loved his Harley, old cars, and worked well as a self-employed carpenter and truck driver before he retired.
He is survived by his son, Bo Curry, daughter; Tonya Ybarra; brother, Odies Curry Jr.; grandchildren, Raini Smith, Delaney Muncy, Weslee Smith, Emberlee Ybarra, Kasie McCracken, Levi Curry, and Logan Curry; great grandchildren, Christopher Waddell, Isabella Ramirez, Alizay Sanchez, Erik Muncy, Kynlee McCracken, Landree McCracken, and Gunner Curry; 2 nieces; and 3 nephews.
