Dovie Fay Staggs Gregory

Dovie Fay Staggs Gregory, 88, of Eastland, TX, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday June 19, 2019.
Dovie was born March 5, 1931, in O’Donnell, TX. She grew up in Waxahachie, TX and Boles Children’s Home in Quinlan, TX. After attending Abilene Christian University, Dovie married Wayne Darren Staggs June 5, 1950. Dan and Dovie had three sons, Lyndall, Ronald, and Clifford, and one daughter, Elisha. They raised their family in Tulia, Littlefield, Amarillo, and Ruidoso, NM. In 1986, Dan and Dovie moved to Eastland where they owned and operated KEAS Radio Station. Dan preceded her in death on February 10, 1998.
Dovie married Edgar Truman Gregory on February 14, 2004, and he preceded her in death on March 31, 2018. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Taylor, and 2 sisters, Dorothy Powell and Gloria Irwin.
Dovie was a member of the Daugherty Street Church of Christ where she volunteered many hours at the service center and was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
Our loving mother and grandmother was compassionate, giving, and always saw the good in others. Most of all, she was very proud of her family and loved them deeply. She is survived by her three sons; Lynn Staggs and wife Celia, Ronald Staggs and wife Renee, and Dr. Clifford Staggs and wife Mary; one daughter, Elisha Miller and husband Nathanial; 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, June 28 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm at Edwards Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, June 29 at 2 pm at the Daugherty Street Church of Christ with burial following in Eastland City Cemetery.
