Edgar Truman Gregory

Edgar Truman Gregory, age 95, of Eastland, Texas passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018 in Lubbock, Texas. He was born March 14, 1923 in Ranger, Texas to William Thomas and Mary Gregory. Visitation will be Friday, April 6, from 6-8 p.m. at Edward's Funeral Home in Eastland. Funeral services will be held April 7 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Edward's Funeral Home with Larry Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Eastland City Cemetery.

Truman loved his family, genealogy, and his farms in Eastland County. He was always active in the Church of Christ wherever he lived. He was a member and former elder of the Daugherty Street Church of Christ in Eastland. As a young man he served in the Seabees in World War II in the Atlantic and Pacific theatres. After the war he returned to the States and married Eunice Mae Yancey on February 27, 1946. Eunice passed away on May 27, 2003. Truman later married Dovie Skaggs on February 14, 2004.

Truman is survived by his wife, Dovie, his two sons, David Gregory and wife Karen of Lubbock; Robert Gregory and wife Vicki of Murfreesboro, TN; and daughter-in-law Lanet Gregory of Nashville, TN. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Emily Bardin, Meg Wadlington, Chelsea Hildebrandt, Tanner Gregory, Kelsey Mahaffey, Britny Booth, Garrett Gregory, John Gregory, and Melissa Byrom; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Eunice Gregory; his oldest son, Thomas Lee Gregory; and siblings Vernon, R.E., Truit (twin brother) and Gertie Emfinger.
