Edlena Pearl Flair Cooper 79, of Hutto, Tx. Went to be with our Lord Feb 21, 2018 at her home.
Edlena was born to Henry Frank Flair and Willie Mae Allen Flair April 22, 1938 in McAllen, Tx. She was a graduate of Abilene High School and went on to McMurry University to pursue a degree in teaching. It was there, she met the love of her life, Robert Lee Cooper Jr. They married and moved to Monahans, Tx where they lived until 1993. They had two children and Edlena was very active in their lives. She taught Sunday school and sang in the choir at the Wickett United Methodist Church. She was a Den Mother for her son’s Boy Scout Troop and later, a Girl Scout Leader for her daughter’s troop. She was in the PTA and served as President several times. She was also a leader in the Monahans 4H club. When her children were older, Edlena went back to school and obtained her Associate degree in Computer Science at Odessa College. She taught as a substitute teacher in the Monahans-Wickett-Pyote ISD. Edlena was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Edlena never met a stranger and always had a smile to share. She could carry a conversation about almost any topic and played a mean game of Trivial Pursuit. She was kind-hearted and loved her family and friends with her whole heart.
Edlena was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Robert Lynn Flair and Sister Virginia Mae Pratt. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband October 24, 2013, and her son Robert Lee Cooper III (Trey).
Those left to cherish her love and memory are her daughter Patricia Dawn Cooper of Hutto. Granddaughters Elizabeth Lynn Cooper Belk of Leander, Bethany Rose Lilla Cooper of Georgetown, and Lacey Dawn Cooper of Hutto. Great Grandchildren, Cooper Allen Belk and Peyton Renee Belk of Leander; as well as a host of other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel at 11AM, Saturday, March 3rd in Eastland. Tx
