Edward Squiers

February 18, 1924 — October 12, 2012

Edward "Eddie" Squiers, Jr., 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 12, 2012, at Hurst Plaza Rehabilitation Center surrounded by family and friends.

Funeral: 1 pm Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland, Tx. Officiating will be by Reverend Steve McCaslin. Interment: Eastland Cemetery.

Eddie was born February 18, 1924 in Buffalo Gap, Tx, to parents, Edward Elijah Squiers and Anna Maud Wright Squiers. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Ranger, Tx going on 65 years.

Eddie served Lone Star Gas Co for 20 years. Following that he served Eastland County and surrounding area as the John Deere Distributor with his Squiers Farm Store. He also was an active Member of the Eastland County Sheriff's Posse serving as Captain.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, son, Charles Edward, brothers, AW "Shorty", Noble, Doyle, Grady, Jerry and Max. Sister, Violet Zell Cunningham.

Survivors: Include son, Dwight of Eastland, daughter Anna and husband Hugh Matthias of Hurst, Tx, grandchildren, Lisa and husband Jed Hutcheson of Eastland, Kim and husband Reverend Steve McCaslin of Weatherford, Tx, Thomas Squiers and partner Jason Tardiff of North Richland Hills, Tx, Chip Matthias and wife Rachel of Irving, Tx. great-grandchildren, Skyler and Cody Hutcheson of Eastland, Tx and Tyler McCaslin of Weatherford, Tx, great-great-granddaughter Rayleigh Hutcheson of Eastland, Tx, brothers, Victor of Massachusetts, Royce of Whitehouse, Tx, sisters Iris Hope Sorrells of Abilene, Tx, Audra Patt and husband Bob Walton of Rising Star, Tx, sister in law Hilde Squiers of Eastland, Tx, Mildred Sharp Squiers of Eastland Tx, mother of Dwight, Anna and Charles Edward, Eileen Noth Squiers of Eastland, mother of Lisa, Kim and Thomas and many other extended family and friends, especially Clara Jones of Hurst, Tx for her caring and devotion the past four years.
