Effie Mae Boone, 89, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 1, 2019 in Ranger, Texas. Visitation will be 4-6 PM Sunday March 3rd at Edwards Funeral Home in Ranger. Funeral Service will be at 2 PM Monday, March 4th at First United Pentecostal Church in Ranger, with Bro. Gerald Gunstanson officiating; burial will follow at Bullock Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home Ranger Texas.
Effie Mae was born on April 20, 1929 to Lonzo Archiable Sides and Edna (Eddie) Grace Dempsey in Breckenridge, Texas. She married Troyce M. Boone on May 1, 1944 in Ranger, Texas. After Troyce’s return from the war in 1945 they settled in the Bullock Community, where they made their home for the next 74 years.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Lonzo and Edna Sides; one brother; Bennie Frank; and one son, James Ray Boone.
Effie Mae is survived by her husband Troyce of Ranger and 4 children; Royce Wayne Boone and wife June of Ranger, Richard H. Boone and wife Judy of Abilene, Joel Boone of Montpelier Idaho, and Darlene Reed and husband Bill of Putnam. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
In lieu of flowers donations can be given to Bullock Cemetery Association or a charity of the donor’s choice.
