Elmer (EW) Rust, 89, of Cisco, left this life on Friday, September 20, 2024. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 23, at Corinth Baptist Cemetery, located between Cisco and Eastland, Texas, with Tim Dame officiating.
Elmer was born on May 23, 1935, in Pecos, Texas, to Joseph Elige Rust and Willie Mae (Holcomb) Rust. He married Dorece (Hammond) Rust on December 28, 1953.
In 1965, Elmer moved his family to Cisco from Kermit, Texas, where he worked as a farmer and rancher. He built and maintained two mobile home parks while also establishing Rust Processing and Rust Deer Plant, which he successfully owned and operated for three decades.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, spouse, and son, Randy Rust.
He is survived by his daughter, Elaine (Rust) Robertson, and her husband, Richard “Tree” Robertson; grandchildren, Brandi Foster and her husband, Cody Foster; Jennifer Hallmark; Erica Johnson and her husband, Justin Richter; Aaron Rust and his wife, Julie; and Bridget Ponce and her husband, Abe. Elmer has eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Elmer was a good man, husband, and father. He will be missed by the ones left behind.
