Ernest A. Rogers

Ernest A. Rogers, age 88 of Eastland, TX passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at his home. Funeral services will be at 2pm Saturday, August 8 at the Leon River Cowboy Church in Olden. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland. Burial will be at the Blake Cemetery in Brown County, SW of Rising Star.
Ernie was born November 29, 1926 in Las Vegas, NM to Rufus Fielding and Rosa Lingnaw Rogers. He married LaVerna Hadderton on February 16, 1954 in Santa Rosa, NM. Ernie was the foreman of the Concha’s Ranch for nine years. He then became the foreman of the CA Ranch from 1958 until 1992. In 1992 he leased a ranch at Mineral Hill, NM and ranched until he retired in 2001. At that time he and Laverna moved to Eastland, TX.
Ernest is survived by his wife LaVerna, to whom he was married to for 61 years, his son Fielding and wife Karla of Decatur, TX, two granddaughters: Brittany Rogers of Nazareth, TX and Reba Rogers of Argyle, TX and one great- grandson Quirt James Rogers.
