Frances Norlene (Pitman) Boggus, age 92, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at her home in Gordon. She was born in on December 3, 1931 in Gordon, TX to Harrison Stith Pitman and Ovia Mae (Hopper) Pitman.
Frances married the love of her life, James Wesley Boggus, on January 8, 1954 at the Gordon Methodist Church. This was their beginning of a true love story of 69 years. She was known by many of the residents in Gordon by her homemade wonderful pies. Frances taught Sunday School at the First Baptist Church in Gordon for over 35 years and was a devote, faithful Christian woman. She was very talented and could craft or sew anything. Frances was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She cherished her grandchildren and spending time with them. She will be missed dearly.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband: James Wesley Boggus: two daughters: Gail Holub and husband Junior and Dianne Gonzales and husband Johnny; one sister: Janice Newberry and husband Randy: 6 grandchildren: Larry Jackson and wife Amy, Timmy Jackson, Kelsey Gonzales and wife Jen, Ryan Gonzales and wife Kirsten, Mindy Scrivner and husband Justin and Taryn Weaver and husband Curtis; 12 great-grandchildren: Carter, Cameron, Colt, Hunter and wife Brooklyn, Sierra, Brent, Katie, Hayden, Jon, Ava, Brody, Cache and Clayre; one great-great-grandchild: Liam, and numerous extended family and friends.
Frances was reunited in Heaven with her parents, one brother: Thurman Pitman and two sisters: Barbara Kinkade and Betsy Alloggio.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm, October 15, 2023 at the First Baptist Church in Gordon.
