Fred O. Brown, 83, went to be with the Lord on June 12, 2017.
Born Frederic Oscar Brown on January 17, 1934 in Osage County, Kansas to Ralph and Ida Brown. He married Ruth Alene Holt on June 1, 1958.
Fred was graduated from high school at the age of 16 and joined the Navy, where he served on the Admiral’s staff in the Philippines. After serving his country proudly, he met Ruth at Kansas City Youth for Christ and they were married in 1958. Fred joined the police reserves and worked for the State of Kansas until 1978 when the family relocated to Safford, Arizona. He worked for the Arizona Department of Corrections spending time serving on the S.W.A.T team until he retired in 1997. While supporting and raising his five children, Fred found the time to pursue two degrees. Fred had a passion for gardening and animals, and enjoyed watching his favorite teams play sports.
Several years before his death, Fred and Ruth lived in Carbon, Texas with their daughter Kathy and her family and dearly loved her Texas family and church family and friends.
Survivors include a Sister Lela Montgomery; Daughters, Kathy Hardin and husband Russ; Becca Bowker and husband Gene; Sons Mark Brown and wife Lisa; Howard Brown and wife CeCe, Thad Brown and his wife January. In addition he has 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, his sister Erma Dunn, daughter Kimberly Jane Brown, and his wife of 58 years Ruth.
